A space to pause, feel heard, and find a way forward.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or the impact of challenging life experiences. You may find yourself feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, unsure of how to move forward.
I offer a compassionate, collaborative and non-judgemental space where we can explore what is happening for you and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
About me
Hello, I'm Abi Akinsanya.
I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist and qualified Integrative Counsellor with experience supporting people across a range of mental health settings.
My professional background includes working in mental health services, therapeutic communities, and social care, supporting individuals facing a variety of emotional and psychological challenges. These experiences have helped me develop a holistic understanding of how our thoughts, emotions, relationships, life experiences and environments can affect wellbeing.
I believe therapy should not be a one-size-fits-all process. Every person brings their own story, strengths and challenges, and I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs.
I also have experience providing counselling in Yorùbá and understand the importance of working in ways that recognise culture, identity, family values and lived experience.

How I work
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with wider therapeutic perspectives to help you better understand your experiences and develop practical tools for change.
Together we can explore:
- Anxiety and excessive worry
- Stress and burnout
- Low mood and depression
- Low self-esteem and self-confidence
- Relationship difficulties
- Life transitions and change
- Bereavement and loss
- Cultural identity and belonging
- The impact of difficult or traumatic experiences
My aim is to create a safe therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, respected and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
What you can expect
Therapy is a collaborative process.
You do not need to have all the answers before starting. Whether you are looking for short-term support focused on specific difficulties or a deeper exploration of long-standing patterns, we will work together to identify your goals and develop an approach that feels helpful for you.
I strive to provide a warm, culturally responsive and inclusive environment where you can explore difficult thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.
